As part of the registration, operation and customization features of?Sharendipity.com ("Sharendipity" or the "Site"), we gather certain types of information from users. Information Collected
The only personal data Sharendipity collects is your e-mail address. Sharendipity also collects non-personal data such as information about traffic patterns on?the Site (for example how many users log onto sharendipity.com on a daily basis).

Personal Information
Sharendipity collects your email address when you register with us. However, your email address is never displayed on the Site. You may be asked to submit your birthday as part of the registration process. Sharendipity does not collect your birth date and it is deleted immediately upon registration.

Nonpersonal Information
Some data we collect contains non-personal information. Examples of this type of information include the type of Internet browser you are using, the type of computer operating system you are using and the domain name of the web site from which you linked to our Site. We may use this information for various purposes, including system administration and enhancement and to collect information about the volume of use of different features available on?Sharendipity.

Cookies
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive.?Sharendipity uses cookies to collect information. Cookies allow?us to measure activity on the Site and to make improvements and updates based on which areas are popular and which are not. Cookies are used to improve your user experience. For example, the cookie allows you to have the option of saving your user name and password which eliminates the need for you to enter the information every time you visit?Sharendipity. (We do not recommend saving your user name and password if you use your computer in a shared environment.)

Please note that with most browsers, a user can set the preferences to show a warning each time a cookie request is received. You can also usually set the browser not to accept cookies at all. By not accepting cookies, you may not be able to take advantage of all Sharendipity?s features.

Use of Information
Sharendipity does not use your email address in its identifiable form. However, we may use a "hashed" version of your email address to remind you of your password. Please see "CHILDREN AND PRIVACY" immediately below for additional details. We use your non-personal information to provide aggregate data reports to our Board of Directors and other interested parties. SHARENDIPITY.COM DOES NOT SHARE ANY INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH THE SITE WITH THIRD PARTIES.

Children and Privacy
Sharendipity is committed to compliance with the Children?s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ("COPPA"). Consequently, we do not collect personal information from children under age 13 in a manner inconsistent with COPPA and we have developed an anonymous user experience that delivers a limited version of our products and services for children under age 13.

When a user chooses to register an account with Sharendipity, he or she is asked to select a user name and password. During the registration process, the user must enter his or her birth date. If a user indicates that he or she is under age 13, Sharendipity creates a "Limited Account" for that user. A Limited Account is a Sharendipity account where users can enjoy a limited version of Sharendipity?s services, but cannot disclose personal information about themselves via those services. During the registration process, the user must also provide his or her email address. The email address is collected for the sole purpose of providing email reminders for password resets to users who have established accounts and Limited Accounts. When a user provides his or her email address, our system immediately alters the email address by "hashing" the email address. When an email address is hashed, our system assigns that data an anonymous ID number such that Sharendipity cannot reconstruct the email address into its original form. However, the "hashed" form can be used for our password reminder system.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information other than an email address, please contact us at help@sharendipity.com. Sharendipity will use reasonable efforts to remove such information from our databases.

Security
Sharendipity is committed to taking reasonable steps to ensure the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

By using the Site, you consent to our use of your personal and non-personal data as specified above. If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page, so you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
